Our cottages used every year by the Whale & Dolphin Conservation Society to survey whales and other marine life. Wester Ross is part of Western Europe's largest area of Dark Skies and it is sometimes possible to see the Northern Lights in winter.

Melvaig has a cafe bar/restaurant. The area's attractions include: a swimming pool, whale watching and marine trips, including visits to the puffin colonies on the Shiant islands, salmon, sea trout, brown trout, pike and sea fishing, Bird watching, falconry, golf course and pony trekking. Also, boat trips on Loch Maree to view Viking graves, bike hire, car hire, deer stalking and deer museum, guided hill walks and guided climbing and sea kayaking trips, and Inverewe Gardens, to name but a few. The coastline around Melvaig and to the Rua Reidh Lighthouse (approx. 4 miles) is rugged, a haven for nesting birds, seals, whales and otters.
